Promo video for Chinese Chess championship in 3 months featured by Ma-yiguang's (son of Chinese Chess Association Chairman Ma-tian) playing was shown in multi-media classroom. Laizhang used to like Doudou, widely beyond his imagination, he found Doudou and Wuhui had come so closely, under his jealousy, Laizhang turned a deaf ear to Wuhui's explanation and threatened Wuhui to accept his arrogant challenge.
Wuhui escaped and went back home. But Chinese chess was a domestic taboo in Wuhui' home, because his parents felt Chinese chess wouldn't give their son a bright future.
Not able to express his views freely in his home so he headed for his Grandpa Nieming's house. But Grandpa had his guests, so Wuhui had to return home before having any chance to tell grandpa his thought.
At night, in Wuhui's dream, he returned to ancient battle field, without knowing what to do, Wuhui kept running. Finally, the enemy surrounded him. And then Wuhui awaked.
Next day was D-day for Wuhui because he had no other choice but to accept Laizhang's challenge. But how would he to deal with this game he never played before?

Wuhui faced up to Laizhang's challenge. The situation on chessboard was Laizhang been in ascendant because Wuhui didn't even know the basic rules. Whenever the Wuhui's general was in danger, the battlefield appeared in Wuhui's dream flashed back in his mind. Situations once improved although, the game between Wuhui and Laizhang ended in Wuhui's failure, which made Laizhang triumphant.
Been defeated by Laizhang, Wuhui went back home, and wanted to give up. But he received Doudou's E-mail, telling him: “Sorry that I let you feel frustrated, but I'm deeply moved by your efforts to fight for me.” Doudou's e-mail inspired and cheered up Wuhui, he swore to improve his technique for his Doudou.

Wuhui asked Xiaoshan and Dazhu how to improve his skill, Xiaoshan told him that persistent practice and increasing experience would make he a perfect player. Wuhui made up his mind to study Chinese chess, and spend his pocket money to buy a set of Chinese chess.
Oriental primary school decided to hold a Chinese Chess team and chose future team members among students (including those who was joining Chinese chess club).
News of Dazhu's participation attracted Wuhui, so he did too. Other participants included Xiaoshan, Laizhang, etc.
Dazhu, Wuhui, Xiaoshan and Laizhang had a wonderful opening in selection competition.
Semifinal was between Wuhui and Laizhang.
